Moscow, May 21 /Xinhua/ — The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China has once again become a milestone on the path of constructive cooperation between the two countries. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president for relations with international organizations aimed at achieving sustainable development goals, chairman of the Russian side of the Russian-Chinese Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development Boris Titov, commenting on the results of the China-Russia talks held on Wednesday in Beijing.

As B. Titov noted, the cornerstone of the shared future is, of course, the extension of the main Treaty on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation. “This document is 25 years old, and I am confident that many more decades of cooperation lie ahead of us,” he added.

According to the assessment of the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, the economic basis of relations between China and Russia is strong and only expands over time. “Mutual trade turnover this year demonstrates active growth, and the economic agreements signed during the visit regarding cooperation in the fields of transport, nuclear energy, industry, trade, transport, construction, and so on will serve to develop this trend,” B. Titov is confident.

He highly appreciated the Chinese side’s decision to extend the visa-free regime for Russian citizens until December 31, 2027. “I am confident that the rapid growth of mutual tourist flow, which began last September, will continue for a long time, as the potential is very large,” noted the interlocutor of Xinhua, confirming that Russia will take symmetrical measures for Chinese citizens.

B. Titov also believes that the cross years of the formation of China and Russia, the solemn opening ceremony of which took place in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, allow to reveal a significant potential for cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities, as well as to expand the student exchange program.

Commenting on the jointly issued statement on the establishment of a multipolar world and a new type of international relations, the special representative of the Russian leader emphasized that the document consolidates the common stance of Russia and China on global challenges, the number of which is growing every day.

“Overall, V. Putin’s visit demonstrated that the symbiosis of Russia and China makes the parties’ obligations practically invulnerable, capable of withstanding any trials,” concluded B. Titov. -0-
