In 2026, no fewer than 2,300 schoolchildren from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions will again be able to participate in the specialized educational-tourist program “University Shifts” under the leading pedagogical universities of the country. The order to allocate funding for its implementation was signed by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin.
The upcoming season of the “University Shift” will become the fifth one in a row. Its events are planned to be held from June to August. Participants in the program will be youngsters aged from 14 to 17 years. Around 20 shifts are planned at the pedagogical universities of Samara, Tula, Volgograd, Perm, and other cities.
Theme changes – history, culture, and ethnography of our country. Teenagers will have the opportunity to combine classes with visits to museums and theaters, excursions, and participation in interactive lessons.
“For many young people, such shifts help to choose a profession and a university where they will receive it. And, of course, great attention there is paid to educational and cultural events,” noted Mikhail Mishustin, commenting on the decision made in Sochi.Meeting with vice premiers on May 19.Â
The Prime Minister clarified that during the shift, teenagers will live on the university campus or dormitories and can fully immerse themselves in the student atmosphere, get acquainted with the learning process and programs, and communicate with the teachers.
In case of necessity, participants of the shift will be provided with medical and psycho-pedagogical support.
The implementation of the “University Shifts” program began in 2022. Its main goals are the socialization and career guidance of young people, as well as the creation of conditions for the development of the scientific and creative potential of children and adolescents from new regions.
