New York, May 18 /Xin Hua/ — The U.S. Department of the Treasury has issued a temporary general license valid for 30 days to provide the most vulnerable countries access to Russian oil, which is already flooding the market.

“This extension will provide additional flexibility, and we will work with these countries on the provision of special waivers as necessary,” wrote U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on social media on Monday. “This waiver will help stabilize the physical crude oil market and ensure oil supplies to countries most vulnerable in the energy sector,” he noted.

The term of the previous license expired on May 16. –0–
