Pyongyang, May 18 /Xinhua/ — The supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has called to strengthen the frontline units on the southern border (the border with the Republic of Korea) to turn it into an “impregnable fortress,” the Central News Agency of Korea (KCNA) reported on Monday.

The General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), Chairman of the State Affairs of the DPRK Kim Jong Un made this statement at a meeting with commanders of divisions and brigades of the entire army on Sunday.

At the meeting, Kim Chen Yin outlined the policy for restructuring the system of training preparation and activating practical training, taking into account the changing features of modern warfare and the trends in the development of the country’s armed forces, the CTAK message says.

He also emphasized the importance of revising the concept of conducting combat operations, taking into account the rapid modernization of the army’s military-technical equipment, as well as its implementation in the combat training of units.
