Harbin, May 18 /Xinhua/ – The silver surgical robot, presented in the exhibition hall of the 10th China-Russia EXPO, attracted considerable attention from visitors. Many of them stopped to learn in detail about the capabilities of the device, in particular, its ability to perform remotely controlled vascular interventional operations.
Unlike traditional operations, during which doctors are forced to wear heavy lead aprons and be exposed to radiation, robotic systems allow surgeons to perform interventions remotely. This significantly reduces the radiation exposure to the person, while simultaneously increasing the accuracy and efficiency of the operation itself.
To master the Russian market, Beijing VAS Medical Tech Co., Ltd. is participating in the exhibition this year. As noted by Qin Guanbo, the company leader, this is an important step, supported by the presence of a subsidiary enterprise in Harbin, the administrative center of Heilongjiang Province in the northeast of China.
“Although this time we only presented samples of products, we see the China-Russia EXPO as an opportunity to strengthen medical cooperation with Russian partners and an outlet to new foreign markets with our high-tech medical devices of domestic production,” he noted.
On another stand, the company Heilongjiang Huida Technology Co., Ltd. demonstrated smart agricultural technology. Among the exhibits was an unmanned vehicle specially developed for work in orchards and greenhouses.
“This is a multifunctional autonomous equipment capable of independently planning routes and performing various tasks,” explained Chu Haibo, deputy general director of Huida Technology. “Thanks to the interchangeable modules for spraying, transportation, and mowing, the equipment can perform intelligent and highly efficient work in complex agricultural conditions.”
Chu Haibo noted that consistent participation in four SX EXPOs contributed to the expansion of the company’s markets. This was made possible thanks to direct interaction with buyers, strengthening supply chains, and mastering advanced industrial technologies.
“We strive to deepen cooperation in the field of smart agriculture and the economics of small heights, as well as to strengthen positions in the market of Russia and other participating countries of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative,” he added.
According to the head of the Hailun Provincial Committee for the Promotion of International Trade Chen Shicong, this year the exhibition gathered more than 1,500 enterprises from 46 countries and regions of the world. The total exhibition area was 55 thousand square meters.
About 100 related events are planned to be held as part of the exhibition, aimed at developing business ties, attracting investments, international cooperation, stimulating tourism, and consumer demand. It is expected that Chinese and Russian participants of the exhibition will also hold more than 100 events for presenting and launching new products.
About 300 Russian enterprises participate in the event, demonstrating achievements in high-tech production, energy equipment, modern agriculture, and digital technologies. It is expected that the number of buyers will exceed 5,000 people.
Chen Shizuon noted that Chinese-Russian economic and trade cooperation has expanded beyond traditional sectors, such as energy and mineral extraction, and has embraced new industries, including the digital economy, green development, and cross-border e-commerce.
At the current EXPO, the share of enterprises engaged in high technologies and classified as “specialized, high-tech, unique and innovative” exceeds 20 percent. The exhibition includes more than 500 new products and equipment, as well as more than 800 new projects, technologies, and initiatives in the field of cooperation.
The opening ceremony of this year’s EXPO took place on Sunday in Harbin. It was attended by the Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC Zhang Guoqing and the Vice Premier of the Russian Federation, authorized representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
China is ready for further cooperation with Russia, relying on the important consensus reached by the heads of the two states, said Zhang Guozin. He emphasized that the parties intend to actively use platforms such as the China-Russia EXPO to maximize the involvement of cooperation mechanisms between Northeast China and the Russian Far East, as well as constantly expanding opportunities for mutually beneficial development.
In turn, Yuri Trutnev noted that Russia is ready to effectively use the mechanism of intergovernmental cooperation. This will allow revealing the potential of interregional interaction and enriching achievements in the development of bilateral relations.
Since its launch in 2014, EXPO has established itself as a leading, most influential, and institutional platform for strengthening trade and economic cooperation between China and Russia. It actively promotes the development of partnerships in strategic areas such as infrastructure, cross-border logistics, and regional interconnectedness, emphasized the head of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee for the Promotion of International Trade, Chen Shizong.
Over the past years, this EXPO has attracted the attention of more than 7,200 Chinese and Russian enterprises and 1.05 million visiting traders. The total volume of deals concluded within the framework of the China-Russia EXPO exceeded 300 billion yuan (about 43.9 billion dollars/USA), the event organizers reported. -0-
