Students of the Department of Logistics and Transport Technologies of GUU saw how domestic automotive technologies are developing today — from engineering developments to the production of modern cars. As part of the project “Week Without Turnstiles,” they visited FGUP “NAMI” — one of the key scientific and engineering centers of the transport industry in Russia.
During the excursion, the students visited the NAMI museum, where they became acquainted with the history of the enterprise and its developments over the years. Here are presented models of automobiles, engineering projects, and technological samples that show how the approaches to creating transport have changed and which solutions became the foundation for the further development of the industry.
After this, the participants visited the manufacturing sites and the company’s plant. The students saw how equipment with numerical control works, how parts are made, and how processes are organized in high-tech production. For future specialists, this became an opportunity to look at the profession not through a textbook, but in real conditions.
A separate part of the visit was the acquaintance with the AURUS line of cars. Company representatives told the students about the engine, the level of production localization, and modern developments in the domestic automotive industry. Participants also learned about the promising NAMI project, including the AURUS car running on hydrogen fuel.
Students were also told about other areas of the center’s work: engineering and scientific-technical projects, intellectual transport systems, and solutions for modern transport infrastructure. This format helps to better understand what tasks the industry faces today and what competencies specialists who will work with transport technologies need.
Visiting FGUP “NAMI” has become an important part of practical-oriented training for students. It continues the cooperation of GUU with FGUP “NAMI”, within the framework of which the parties are developing joint projects in the field of design R&D и roadmap for improving the qualifications of GTT transport workers. Students were able to see the entire path of the engineering idea — from research and design to production and implementation of new solutions.
