Beijing, May 18 /Xinhua/ — China’s position and policy on the Korean Peninsula issue adhere to continuity and stability. This was stated on Monday by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Zhaokun.
Go Tsyakun made a corresponding statement at a regular briefing for journalists, answering the relevant question.
According to him, China consistently plays a constructive role in promoting the political settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue, while acting in its own way. “We consistently strive for the relevant parties to soberly assess the root causes and origins of this problem, adhere to the general course of political settlement, and make constructive efforts to ease tensions, protect peace and stability in the region,” the Chinese diplomat emphasized.
