Minsk, May 17 /Sin Hua/ — The final match of the Belarus Cup in football ended with the victory of the BATE club. In the decisive 35th cup competition game, Borisov’s BATE defeated Minsk’s “Dinamo” 8:7 in a series of post-match penalties. The final took place on the field of the National Football Stadium in Minsk.
The first goal was scored by Dynamo player Artem Sokolovsky. BATE player Kirill Apanasevich scored the equalizer. At the end of regular and extra time, the score was 1-1. In the penalty shootout, Borisov’s BATE won 8-7 and for the sixth time became the winner of the Belarusian Football Cup.
Earlier, the BATE club won the Belarusian National Cup in 2006, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2021.
