Lanzhou, May 15 /Xinhua/ — On May 14, the forum on government management and sustainable development “China – Central Asia” was held at Lanzhou University (Lanzhou city, administrative center of Gansu Province, Northwest China). The event was attended by more than a hundred scholars, experts, and representatives of government circles from China and Central Asian countries.
The organizer of the forum was Lanzhou University. Participants held friendly and constructive discussions on issues such as government administration and Chinese modernization, legal regulation and public safety, high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road”, digitization of management in the field of higher education.
As noted by the Vice-Rector of Lanzhou University Sha Yunjun, the forum dedicated to public administration and sustainable development is closely connected with the current needs of the region. It is not only a platform for high-level academic exchanges, but also an important mechanism for uniting the efforts of academic, political, and business circles in the search for solutions and joint long-term planning.
“Lanzhou University, located in northwestern China not far from Central Asia, is one of the first Chinese universities to develop research dedicated to Central Asia. We are ready to work shoulder to shoulder with universities, research institutes, and enterprises of the Central Asian countries to deepen regional studies, continuously expand cooperation horizons, and jointly write a new chapter of mutual enrichment of civilizations and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Central Asia,” said Sha Yunjun.
Scientists from Central Asian countries noted that the combination of China’s rich experience in public administration and the rapid development of Central Asia will allow the economic stability of the region to reach a completely new level. A multifaceted partnership between China and the countries of Central Asia is of decisive importance, and cooperation and development in such areas as science and education will lay a solid foundation for the implementation of large-scale joint projects.
