Changsha, May 15 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday, a business meeting was held in the city of Changsha, Hunan Province /Central China/ to establish trade and investment cooperation between China /Hunan/ and Uzbekistan /Bukhara Region/ – 2026. The event was attended by a delegation led by the governor of Bukhara Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Botir Zaripov, and more than 200 representatives of companies in Hunan Province.

At a business meeting, the head of the Hunan provincial branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Yan Aiyun, noted that as of 2025, the cumulative annual growth rates in foreign trade turnover volume between Hunan province and Uzbekistan over three years reached 45.01 percent. Companies from Hunan province, such as Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. and Hunan Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., have actively developed their presence in Uzbekistan, while the universities and medical institutions of this province have also established close cooperative relations with this country.

“Hunan Province and Buenos Aires Province significantly complement each other in the fields of construction technology, modern agriculture, new sources of energy and resources. The Hunan branch of CCPIT is ready to unlock trade potential, expand investment sectors, strengthen humanitarian ties, and provide comprehensive services to support enterprises in going overseas to foreign markets,” said Yan Aiyun.

Botir Zaripov in his speech expressed hope that the Bukhara region will develop cooperation with Hunan province in the fields of automobiles on new energy sources, pharmaceuticals, and intelligent agriculture, and invites a larger number of Hunanese companies to invest in the Bukhara region.

As a result of the event, the parties reached agreements on a number of intentions for cooperation in the field of technology export and the creation of joint ventures.

According to official data, Hunan Province develops trade and economic cooperation with 235 countries and regions of the world, and the number of its sister international cities has reached 120 pairs.
