“This year, the ‘Night at the Museum’ event will combine more than 600 cultural activities across 170 venues throughout the city. Among them are unique events that do not take place on regular days and are only available during the nighttime event. This provides an opportunity to visit several venues in one evening, discover new museums and art directions for oneself, as well as look at familiar exhibits in a new way,” noted the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the city’s Department of Culture.
“Night at the Museum” is the most attended of all the nighttime events organized by the Capital Department of Culture. It has been held annually since 2007 and is dedicated to International Museum Day, which is celebrated on May 18. The event kicks off on May 16 in the new building of the Moscow State Art Gallery of Vasily Nesterenko. All venues participating in it will be open from 18:00 to 02:00. The events of the campaign will be held in city museums and exhibition halls, libraries, parks, and other venues in the capital.
