Tehran, May 11 /Xin Hua/ — Iran currently demands in the draft proposal for negotiations with the USA an immediate cessation of the conflict on all fronts, guarantees of the absence of further “aggression”, as well as the lifting of American sanctions and the removal of the maritime blockade. This was reported on Sunday by the Tasnim news agency.

“The proposal emphasizes the necessity of an immediate cessation of the war, provides guarantees against the repetition of aggression against Iran, and points to a number of other issues within the framework of a political agreement,” the informed source told journalists.

The document also contains a requirement to lift American sanctions within 30 days concerning the sale of Iranian oil and the unblocking of Iran’s frozen assets after reaching a preliminary agreement, the agency reports.

On February 28, the USA and Israel launched joint strikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of the then Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, high-ranking Iranian officials, and civilians. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes against Israel and US interests in the region and tightened control over the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire between the warring parties came into force on April 8. On April 11-12, negotiations were held in Islamabad, Pakistan, between Iranian and American delegations, which ended without an agreement. Later, the United States announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Over the past few weeks, the parties, through Pakistan’s mediation, have exchanged several plans outlining the conditions for ending the conflict.

Earlier on Sunday, the IRNA news agency reported that Iran had sent a response to Pakistan regarding the latest proposal by the USA. On Sunday evening, US President Donald Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social that Tehran’s reaction was “completely unacceptable.” –0–
