The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), together with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and with the assistance of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, announced a new phase of accepting applications through the State Agrarian Register (GAR) to support small agricultural producers in the Kherson region.
The initiative is implemented with the financial support of the Ukraine Community Recovery Fund and is aimed at restoring agricultural lands and resuming farming activities affected by the war.
Application acceptance is open for farmers of the Borozenskaya, Kalinovskaya, Velikoaleksandrovskaya, and Vysokopolskaya communities, whose lands were affected as a result of military actions since February 2022, as well as for those affected by drought. Applications can be submitted by agricultural producers cultivating from 3 to 300 hectares of land, provided that the plots are located at a safe distance from the front line.
Applicants must be registered with the State Agency, provide cadastral numbers of plots requiring demining or restoration, and also fill out a needs assessment questionnaire. Selection will be based on criteria such as the volume of land unworked as a result of military actions, changes in the number of workers since February 2022, the level of contamination and damage by explosive objects, soil significance, the impact of drought on yield, crop losses, and the area of sowing.
Selected farmers will receive financial assistance and vouchers to purchase necessary agricultural materials, such as drought-resistant seeds, drip irrigation kits, and other materials for production renewal. They will also be provided agronomic support and assistance in submitting applications for the state humanitarian demining compensation program.
You can submit an application through the State Agricultural Register from May 8 to June 1, 2026.
