Rosneft and its subsidiaries are conducting a large-scale program of patriotic actions dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory. Across the country — in major cities and remote northern settlements — hundreds of events are held to honor the memory of the immortal feat of the people.

During the war years, oil workers supplied the Red Army with fuel and lubricants. A few remaining specialists, women, and teenagers who replaced the men gone to the front opened new deposits and launched factories, bringing Victory closer through selfless labor.

More than 100 thousand employees of Rosneft enterprises are taking part in the all-Russian campaigns “Immortal Regiment”, “Candle of Memory” and “St. George’s Ribbon”. At the production facility, the “Memory Relay” campaign took place – oil workers came to their work shift with portraits of their relatives – participants of the Great Patriotic War. Both field workers and office employees joined the initiative.

Today, Rosneft employees congratulate veterans, home front workers, and children of the war even in the most remote areas of Taimyr, Turukhansk districts and Yakutia, presenting gifts and food packages.

Creative and educational events initiated by Rosneft have united children and youth in dozens of cities – young participants in the projects get to know the history of our country more deeply. In the schools of Angarsk, Achinsk, Irkutsk, Moscow, Novokuybyshevsk, Orenburg, Saratov, Samara, Tomsk, Tyumen, and Ufa, oil workers organize thematic “Lessons of Courage,” recitation competitions, quizzes, exhibitions, and excursions dedicated to the heroic deeds of the Soviet people.

A landmark event was the publication of the book “Immortal Regiment of the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery”, dedicated to the refinery workers who participated in the Great Patriotic War. The book contains information about hundreds of hero oil refinery workers who, having returned from the front, built the plant and launched production. Work on the book continued for more than ten years. As a result of painstaking search and research work, data on almost a thousand participants of the Great Patriotic War who worked at the oil refinery were restored. The book carefully collects the names and surnames, ranks and positions, combat and labor path, feats and awards, frontline photographs of the immortal heroes, the memory of whom will be passed on to the next generations.

In various regions of the country, oil workers organized motor rallies featuring restored military and rare vehicles – from the legendary ZIL-131 truck to civilian cars from the 1940s. The routes passed through places of fierce battles, and participants laid flowers at memorials to fallen soldiers and civilians.

Special attention is paid to the festive improvement of memorial sites – oil workers bring military burial sites and obelisks into order, plant flowers along the Alley of Glory, and renew monuments to heroes of the front and rear. Hundreds of volunteers from Voronezh to Krasnoyarsk restore memorial complexes related to the events of the Great Patriotic War.

The atmosphere is complemented by concerts where participants of the corporate festival “Energy of Talents” perform all the favorite wartime songs – “Smuglyanka”, “Katyusha”, and “Blue Scarf”. For guests, a field kitchen with hot soldier’s porridge and aromatic tea with pastries is available. Everyone who wishes participates in quizzes and wins useful souvenirs, as well as takes memorable photos.

Sports events united more than a thousand oil workers – running marathons and relays were held across the country. In Tyumen, the distance of the relay “Victory Run” symbolically repeated the number 81, and in Izhevsk, a cycling race took place along places of military glory.

Across the country, at the Rosneft and Bashneft gas stations on May 8 and 9, about 1.5 million St. George’s ribbons will be distributed to motorists. Visitors to the gas stations will also be treated to festive programs with war songs from the war years, field kitchens with “frontline porridge,” thematic photo zones, and exhibitions of civilian equipment from the 1940s..

The preservation of historical memory is an integral part of the corporate culture of “Rosneft.” The company organizes and supports projects and initiatives aimed at preserving cultural, spiritual, and national values. The employees of the Company honor the feat of the Soviet people in the fight against fascism. We remember! We are proud!
