Tehran, May 7 /Xinhua/ — The official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmail Bagayi stated on Thursday that Tehran has not yet agreed to the peace proposal from the USA and has not sent a response to Washington.

In an interview with the Iranian state news agency IRNA, a diplomat noted that Iran continues to study American messages transmitted through Pakistan.

According to E. Bagai, the latest negotiations between Iran and Pakistan were focused on a 14-point plan proposed by Tehran to end the war with the USA and Israel, which was transmitted to Washington through Islamabad.

An official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the United States has presented its point of view on Iran’s proposal in the form of its own plan.

E. Bagai noted that Iran is studying the US proposal and will pass its response to Pakistan after it comes to an agreement. According to him, based on the exchange of messages, a decision will be made on the next step.

Earlier on the same day, the Al-Arabiya TV channel, citing a Pakistani source, reported that Iran might respond to the US peace proposal through Pakistan as early as Thursday. –0–
