Beijing, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — China is deeply concerned about the attacks on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and strongly opposes actions that exacerbate tensions in the region, said on Thursday the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Song.
Lin Ziyan made such a statement at yet another departmental press conference, responding to journalists’ questions regarding the situation around the Strait of Hormuz.
According to him, China consistently considers that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern and Persian Gulf countries must be inviolably respected, and civilian populations and non-military objects must be protected.
The most urgent task is the immediate and complete cessation of fire to prevent further spread of the conflict, added the Chinese diplomat. -0-
