Beijing, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — China intends, together with Uzbekistan, to promote the consistent deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation and to continuously enrich the content of the China-Uzbekistan community of shared destiny in order to bring more benefits to the peoples of the two countries. This was stated on Thursday by Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Go Chzhun.
Lü Gochun, who is also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, met on Thursday in Beijing with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and together with him held the 8th meeting of the China-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation.
As Liu Haojun noted, the Chinese side is ready, together with the Uzbek side, following the grand plan outlined by the heads of the two states, to fully engage the coordinating and guiding role of the committee, to provide strong mutual support on issues touching the core interests of each other, to deepen cooperation within the framework of high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road,” to activate exchanges in such areas as economy and trade, energy, transport, agriculture, science and technology, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, security, and the fight against poverty.
A. Aripov, in turn, assured that Uzbekistan consistently considers China as a long-term and reliable strategic partner and intends to maintain close contacts at a high level, deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation in various fields to contribute to elevating Uzbek-Chinese relations to a new height.
The Prime Minister confirmed Uzbekistan’s firm commitment to the One China principle and also expressed readiness to jointly implement four major global initiatives proposed by CPC Chairman Xi Jinping, and to contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind. –0–
