Moscow, May 7 /TASS/ — Additional measures to ensure the security of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in connection with the celebration of Victory Day have undoubtedly been taken. This was stated on Thursday at a briefing by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.

“Just as in the relations of every head of state worldwide, whether it be the heads of state in America, heads of state in Europe, heads of state in Asia, and so on — in relation to the head of the Russian state, appropriate measures are taken to ensure his security,” indicated D. Peskov.

Speaking about temporary shutdowns of mobile communications for security reasons, a Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that ensuring the safety of citizens is an absolute priority for the Russian authorities and that all measures taken comply with the law.

As he reported, at one of the recent meetings with government members, the head of state drew attention to the necessity of appropriate public information and the uninterrupted functioning of systems that are critical for livelihood support.

According to D. Peskov, the Russian authorities do not consider measures to support and compensate businesses in connection with mobile network outages.
