Yerevan, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — China is an important partner of Armenia, and there is still untapped potential in bilateral economic relations. This was stated on Wednesday by Xin Hua, deputy minister of economy of Armenia Anushik Avetyan at the field of the international forum “Yerevan Dialogue.”

She expressed hope that the two countries will work together to expand the volume of trade and develop a larger number of investment projects both in Armenia and in the South Caucasus region as a whole.

According to the deputy minister, companies from the PRC show increased interest in infrastructure projects in Armenia, many of which are already being implemented by Chinese contractors. “I believe that these companies play a very important role in our economy, and we will continue to develop this cooperation further in order to diversify the country’s economy,” she noted.

A. Avetyan emphasized that diversification of the economy, exports, and trading partners is very important for the Armenian government and plays a key role in ensuring the sustainable economic development of the country.

The international forum “Yerevan Dialogue – 2026” was held in Yerevan from May 5 to 6 under the motto “Overcoming the Storm” / “Riding Through the Storms”. The event was dedicated to topics such as geopolitical shifts, global connectivity, and the green transition. The first such forum took place in 2024.
