Beijing, May 6 /Xinhua/ — During the May Day holidays, dozens of teenagers from China and Russia gathered in the city of Ziyangmu, Heilongjiang Province (Northeast China) to participate in sports and cultural events organized by the administration of the Xianyan district of the said city.
As reported by the local online publication “Fendyou”, the events took place from April 30 to May 4. During this time, sports competitions such as a friendly kickboxing competition and a basketball match were organized for Chinese and Russian teenagers. The cultural program included a joint walk through a thematic picturesque zone of decorative flowers and a symbolic event of joint tree planting, held under the motto “Cross-border Friendship.”
The hearts of young people from both countries were tangibly brought closer together also by the joint work on painting traditional Chinese kites and a literary and artistic party, which took place in a cheerful and friendly atmosphere.
“By participating in such interesting events, teenagers from two countries played together, studied together, and grew closer emotionally. As a result of the events, they gained not only success in competitions and a joyful mood, but also mutual understanding, mutual respect, and sincere friendship, inseparable from mountains and seas,” shared one of the event organizers with their touching impressions.
