Beirut/Jerusalem, May 6 /Sin Hua/ — Israel struck an air strike on the municipality of Haret Hreik in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Wednesday evening. This was reported by the Lebanese TV channel “Al-Jadid.”
According to data from the National Information Agency of Lebanon, an Israeli warship fired three missiles at a residential building in this area, which caused serious damage and the immediate dispatch of ambulances to the site.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Defense of the Jewish state, Israel Katz, confirmed in a joint statement the carrying out of a strike, stating it was an “attempt at neutralization” with the help of the commander of the “Sradvan” special forces unit of the “Hezbollah” movement, Malki Blut.
The statement asserts that M. Blut bears responsibility for the shelling of Israeli populated areas and for attacks on military personnel.
As reported by the Israeli state channel Kan TV, representatives of Israel’s security services believe that as a result of a strike coordinated with the USA, M. Blut was killed.
This was the first strike by the Jewish state on the southern suburbs of Beirut after the ceasefire regime between Israel and Lebanon came into effect at midnight from April 16 to 17. –0–
