Singing polyphonists visited Vologda — a city of carved palisades and song traditions. The youth choir “Poligimnia” took part in the All-Russian vocal-choral competition named after I.P. Smirnov.

Vocal and choral ensembles and choral groups from Yaroslavl, Petrozavodsk, Ryazan, Saint Petersburg, Kirov, and Cherepovets performed in Vologda. The youth choir “Poleta” brilliantly performed the competition program and did not leave anyone a chance for the highest award of the competition. The Grand Prix of the All-Russian vocal and choral competition was awarded to the choir. The women’s group of “Poligimnii” also won the title of first-degree laureate.

The choir members never cease to amaze with their endurance and love for music. The guys successfully performed the competition program. The female group even performed twice: they sang an hour-long concert, which was met by the Vologda audience with incredible warmth and enthusiasm,” shared the conductor and leader of the choir Anna Podgornova.

The kids managed to stroll along the quiet streets, admire the frames, and get acquainted with the wooden architecture of the old Russian town.

It was a wonderful trip. The team always grows even stronger and closer under such conditions. Someone opens up from an unexpected side, someone has a chance and interesting conversation with someone. We spent a lot of strength, time, nerves, breakdowns, but it was definitely worth it,” shared the second-year student of IKNK Vladimir Ivanov.
