Meeting of the Academic Council: the transformation of the education system continues

The meeting of the Academic Council on April 30 began with a ceremony of awarding diplomas on the conferral of academic degrees.

Rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudskoy awarded the diploma of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences to the senior lecturer of the Higher School of Applied Mathematics and Computational Physics Valentin Golubkov (scientific supervisor — Professor of the Higher School of Applied Mathematics and Computational Physics Andrey Garbaruk).

Roman Kovalishin, assistant at the Graduate School of Production Management, received a Candidate of Economic Sciences diploma (scientific advisor — professor of the Graduate School of Production Management Alexey Fadeev).

Andrei Rudskoy awarded diplomas to candidates of technical sciences: to Alexey Pergushev, assistant at the Higher School of Applied Physics and Space Technology (scientific advisor — Professor Vladimir Sorotsky of the Higher School of Applied Physics and Space Technology); to Ivan Anukin, senior lecturer at the Higher School of Mechanical Engineering (scientific advisor — Professor Mikhail Radkevich of the Higher School of Mechanical Engineering); to Salbek Beketov, assistant at the Higher School of Project Activity and Innovation in Industry (scientific advisor — Associate Professor Alexey Gintsak of the Higher School of Project Activity and Innovation in Industry);Assistant of the Higher School of Project Activities and Innovations in Industry Zhanna Burlutskaya (scientific supervisor — director of the Higher School of Project Activities and Innovations in Industry Sergey Redko); assistant of the Higher School of Hydraulic and Energy Construction Ekaterina Shonina (scientific supervisor — professor of the Higher School of Hydraulic and Energy Construction Aleksandr Bolshev); Valentina Chelysheva (scientific supervisor — professor of the Higher School of Hydraulic and Energy Construction Natalya Politaeva); Daniil Gorbatov (scientific supervisor —professor of the Higher School of Energy Engineering Alexander Zharkovsky); Artyom Tulaev (scientific advisor — director of the Higher School of Electronics and Microsystems Vera Loboda); Viktoria Pozdnyakova (scientific advisor — associate professor of the Higher School of Hydraulic and Energy Construction Alexander Chusov); Daniil Semyonov (scientific advisor — professor of the Higher School of Industrial and Civil Engineering Vladimir Lalin); Ivan Balabanov (scientific advisor — Alexander Bondar).

The PhD diplomas in biological sciences were received by: research associate Anatoly Arseniev (scientific supervisor — director of the Research Complex “Nanobiotechnology” Mikhail Khodorkovsky) and senior lecturer of the Higher School of Biomedical Systems and Technologies Nikita Zernov (scientific supervisor — Doctor of Biological Sciences Elena Popugaeva).

Andrey Rudskoy also presented certificates for the awarding of the academic title of “Associate Professor” to: Alexander Aripov (scientific specialty 1.3.5 “Physical Electronics”), Maksim Vinnichenko (scientific specialty 1.3.11 “Physics of Semiconductors”), Roman Zudov (scientific specialty 2.2.13 “Radio Engineering, including television systems and devices”), Alexey Vovende (scientific specialty 5.5.4 “International Relations, Global and Regional Studies”), Alexandra Dashkina (scientific specialty 5.8.2 “Theory and Methods of Teaching and Upbringing (by fields and levels of education)”), Yulia Dubolazova (scientific specialty 5.2.3 “Regional andsectoral economy), Anastasia Sklyarova (scientific specialty 1.3.8 “Physics of condensed matter”).

By tradition, at the meeting of the Academic Council, the Rector of the Polytechnic presented awards to colleagues for outstanding results in professional and public activities. There was also a celebration of employees and students who demonstrated high results in various competitions and contests.

Professor of the Higher School of Technology and Artificial Intelligence of the Institute of Computer Science and Cybersecurity Vladimir Zaborovsky received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Committee on Science and Higher Education for his significant personal contribution to the development of the higher education system and scientific potential of Saint Petersburg, and an Honorary Certificate from SPbPU for his major contribution to the scientific and pedagogical activities of the university and the training of engineering personnel.

The Committee on Science and Higher Education of Saint Petersburg awarded the Director of the Institute of Energy at SPbPU, Viktor Barskov, an Honorary Diploma for his significant personal contribution to the development of the higher education system and scientific potential of Saint Petersburg.

Professor of the Higher School of Hydrotechnical and Energy Construction Vladimir Badenko was awarded the Honorary Diploma of SPbPU for professionalism and active participation in conducting the scientific examination of the results of scientific research and experimental design work in the field of artificial intelligence and the use of artificial intelligence technologies within the framework of the state program of the Russian Federation “Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.”

Associate Professor of the Higher Engineering and Economic SchoolVictoria BrazovskayaA Letter of Appreciation was awarded to SPbPU for active participation in the development of the student scientific society, effective work in attracting and supporting young researchers, as well as success in scientific, pedagogical, and social activities. One of the illustrations of Viktoria’s merits is the victory of the Student Scientific Society of IPMEIT at the International Competition.

Fifth-year student of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Vadim Nikonov took 2nd place in the All-Russian student work competition “Make Your Microcircuit”.

The PR-Star team of the Higher School of Media Communications and Public Relations of the Humanities Institute (Viktoria Gognadze, Polina Kudryavtseva, Yana Savelyeva, Vera Erofeeva, Aleksandra Smirnova) became the silver prize winner of the All-Russian student team competition “Archer. Future”.

The sports achievements of Politeka in 2025 brought the university to 1st place in the overall team championship of Saint Petersburg and to 2nd place in the absolute overall team championship of the Saint Petersburg student competitions.

The gold of the Russian Armwrestling Championship was brought to the Politechnic by the coach of the Student Sports Club “Black Bears-Politec”, Viktor Shevelenko, and the senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Training and Sports, Diana Bareeva.

The women’s basketball team delighted with the silver medal of the Student Basketball Association Championship in the “Saint Petersburg” division.

On the first agenda item, the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Lyudmila Pankova spoke. She shared news about the transformation of the higher education system at the federal level and explained what changes are expected in the educational policy of Politex.

The second agenda item concerned the presentation for the awarding of academic titles. The members of the Academic Council voted to bestow the title of “Professor” on the director of the Higher School of International Relations, Doctor of Political Sciences Zeynab Basturidze (scientific specialty 5.5.4 “International Relations, Global and Regional Studies”), senior research associate of IKNK, Doctor of Technical Sciences Lyudmila Chernenkaya (scientific specialty 2.3.1 “System Analysis, Management and Information Processing, Statistics”).

Members of the Academic Council also supported the awarding of the title of “Associate Professor” to Yaroslav Vladimirov (scientific specialty 2.4.6 “Theoretical and Applied Thermophysics”), Ekaterina Dolzhenkova (scientific specialty 5.1.5 “International Legal Sciences”), Aleksandra Kobicheva (scientific specialty 5.8.2 “Theory and Methodology of Teaching and Education (by fields and levels of education)”), Olga Kuznetsova (scientific specialty 5.6.1 “National History”), Andrey Shakurov (scientific specialty 5.2.3 “Regional and Sectoral Economics”), Anastasia Grigoryeva (scientific specialty 5.2.2 “Mathematical, Statistical, and Instrumentalmethods in economics”), Evgeny Konnikov (scientific specialty 5.2.2 “Mathematical, statistical, and instrumental methods in economics”), Dmitry Karov (scientific specialty 1.3.5 “Physical electronics”), Olesya Leonova (scientific specialty 2.5.22 “Quality management of production.Standardization. Organization of production”), Sergey Nikitin (scientific specialty 2.5.11 “Ground transport technological means and complexes”).

On the third issue, “On monitoring the implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council,” the academic secretary Dmitry Karpov reported that some of the decisions have been implemented, and some are still in progress.

At the Academic Council, a decision was made to hold a general meeting (conference) of employees and students of SPbPU on June 23.
