At the Higher School of International Educational Programs of SPbPU, the opening of a multifunctional auditorium No. 400 “Unity space” took place. The project for the transformation of the educational premises with a total area of 196 m² is aimed at solving the key tasks of campus and educational policy, digital transformation, and also corresponds to the goals of the university’s international activities, formulated within the framework of the “Priority-2030” program.

Rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudskoy and Vice-Rector for International Activities Dmitry Arseniev, in the presence of honorary guests, solemnly opened the “Space of Nations.”

The multifunctional auditorium offers a wide range of possibilities: here you can hold lecture and practical classes, in-person, hybrid, and online conferences, seminars, trainings, project work in parallel groups, as well as ceremonial events — award ceremonies for graduates, winners of international competitions and olympiads.

The auditorium is equipped with an operator’s station, which allows moderation of various event scenarios (including video conferencing and coworking). The installed equipment supports all formats and scenarios of operation. The operator can manage multisession events from a separate zone, and partial control from the speaker’s zone is provided. The main idea of the multimedia project is to create a flexible system that allows conducting a single event using the entire auditorium space, or dividing it into several independent blocks for different tasks.

Today we have made an important step in the development of the Polite campus international. Thanks to modern equipment and updated interior, this auditorium will become not only a comfortable venue for events but also a point of attraction for young minds. I am confident that the “Space of Nations” will attract students and teachers from all over the world so that they can comfortably realize the most ambitious educational, project, and creative initiatives,” commented Dmitry Arsenyev, Vice-Rector for International Activities.

On the first day of the auditorium’s operation, a presentation of the venue, its multimedia capabilities, and the renovation process took place. The project implementation is the result of joint work by international services and departments under the guidance of Vice-Rector for Information Technologies and Digital Transformation Andrey Lyamin and Vice-Rector for Organizational and Economic Work Stanislav Vladimirov. Since its opening, auditorium No. 400 in the Polytechnic has been actively used. It is very important for students to feel comfortable both during their studies, in project activities, and in extracurricular time.

Today we are working with the team on a team project, part of the group is online. This is wonderful when hybrid formats of joint work are available. Equipping the auditorium allows this to be implemented at 100%,

It’s delightful that life began to boil here right away! I am confident that this space will become a point of attraction and self-realization for politicians. Honestly, when you see such dedication and lively interest on the very first day, you realize — we’ve hit the mark. This is no longer just an audience, this is a living organism,” noted Rector Andrey Rudskoy.

Students note the possibility of using the auditorium as a modernly equipped coworking space. In a conversation with Rector Andrey Rudsky, the head of Tutor Forses, a student from India, Vedant Gupta, expressed gratitude: Thanks for your attention to the foreign students of our university. We really appreciate your support. And we are glad that such a cool auditorium was made for us! The name “Space of Nations” is very symbolic! We have many foreign students, and we can all study here together, implement bright projects and hold events.

Creating a modern environment for unveiling the potential of employees and trainees, including foreign students and graduate students, is one of SPbPU’s key priorities. Earlier, the university opened the PolyUnion interclub — a comfortable and multifunctional space for Russian and foreign students. In the summer of 2024, university work started at the international campus.MFC “Unified Center for Foreign Citizens Registration” (UCFC), where migrants from other countries can quickly arrange all the necessary documents for studying and living in Russia.
