Kyiv, May 1 /Sinyua/ — President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Friday in “Telegram” that in June a reform of the armed forces will start in the country, which, in particular, provides for an increase in the financial support of servicemen.

The President of Ukraine noted that within the framework of the reform, the monetary allowance for servicemen will be increased, which is one of the principles of fairness. The fulfillment of combat missions on the front line, the presence of real combat and managerial experience, as well as the efficiency of the serviceman will guarantee the increase in payments. It is expected that the minimum salary level for rear positions should reach at least 30 thousand hryvnias /682 US dollars/, and for combat positions — several times more.

In addition, the reform provides for the introduction of special contracts for combatants with payments ranging from 250,000 to 400,000 hryvnias /5687-9099 dollars/ depending on the completion of combat missions.

The reform will also allow expanding the contract system in the Armed Forces to ensure the established terms of service and the possibility to start phased dismissal from service this year for those who were mobilized earlier.
