Beijing, April 30 /Xinhua/ — The Office of the Committee for Work Safety under the State Council of the PRC announced that it has taken control over the investigation of a road traffic accident involving a passenger bus in Yunnan Province /Southwest China/, which resulted in seven deaths and 12 injuries.
On Thursday, a passenger bus overturned in the Yuan’an district. The Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Transport, sent a combined working group to the scene of the incident to lead the work on eliminating the consequences of the emergency situation.
The chancellery instructed the authorities of Yunnan province to assign a higher-level investigation, clarify the causes of the incident as soon as possible, and hold those responsible strictly accountable in accordance with the law.
As noted, these measures are aimed at ensuring that lessons are learned from the tragedy and that similar incidents do not occur in the future.
