Beijing, April 30 /Xinhua/ — The Chinese armed forces are ready to cooperate with all parties to promote the high-quality development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), said Zhang Xiaogang, an official spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of the PRC, on Thursday.
Zhan Xiaogan made this statement in response to a question from the media about the recent visit of China’s Minister of Defense, Dun Czyun, to Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Dun Czyun also took part in a meeting of defense ministers of the SCO member states in Kyrgyzstan.
Noting that the SCO is a vivid example of implementing multilateral cooperation, Zhang Xiaogan called on the relevant member states to resolutely defend the international order, jointly work on ensuring impartiality and justice, unite efforts to improve the security management system, eliminate the root causes of instability and conflicts through joint development, and also contribute to achieving a “sustainable world, development, and prosperity,” for which the conference participants advocated.
An official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic stated that the Chinese armed forces are ready to cooperate with all parties in order to improve the effectiveness of existing mechanisms, strengthen personnel training to consolidate the foundation of cooperation, as well as adopt specific measures to enhance security, with the aim of promoting the high-quality development of the SCO.
