During a working trip to the Trans-Baikal Territory, Deputy Chairman of the Government – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev visited the Kuluminsky mining and processing plant, a large promising mining and processing complex located in the Gazimuro-Zavodsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory on the basis of an eponymous polymetallic deposit, and spoke with the management and employees of the enterprise.
“Enterprises create new jobs, develop the economy of Transbaikalia and Russia. Today, the price of copper and gold is high. This allows us to be confident in high profitability. I watch with pleasure how a new economic project is born in Transbaikalia,” said Yuri Trutnev.
Kultuminsky GOK is one of the key residents of the TOS “Transbaikalia”. The project is implemented using modern technological solutions and is focused on the extraction of gold, copper, and silver.
“The project was completed in record industry-standard timeframes: in less than four years, the stages of preliminary exploration, technological studies, design, and construction were carried out. The license for the deposit was obtained in May 2022, and by December 2025, the first batch of commercial products had already been shipped,” noted Vladislav Sviblov, general director of the ‘Areal’ group.
Currently, the plant is operating in commissioning mode with a phased introduction of the enterprise into operation. The project provides for the production of copper-containing and gravity gold-containing concentrates, and at the second stage – iron ore concentrate. With the commissioning at the design capacity, the GOK will process up to 13 million tons of ore per year.
At the moment, the number of personnel is about 1.6 thousand people, almost 40% of whom are residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory. And in total, within the project framework, it is planned to create up to 10 thousand jobs in related industries.
“Zabaykalsky Krai today shows serious results in attracting investment. The emergence of such productions as Kultuminsky GOK is new jobs, taxes, and opportunities for the development of entire territories. We see a responsible attitude from the investor and will continue to support such projects,” emphasized the governor of Zabaykalsky Krai, Alexander Osipov.
On the same day, Yuri Trutnev visited secondary school No. 33 in Chita, where this year, under the presidential national project “Youth and Children,” a major renovation will begin. On the eve of the school’s 60th anniversary, the engineering networks and interior rooms in the building will be modernized, and new equipment will be installed.
Yury Trutnev inspected the modular sports hall of school No. 33, built in 2023 with funds from the unified presidential Far Eastern subsidy under the program “50 modular sports halls in the Far East.”
“It’s great when children are engaged in sports. To be honest, I have my own special passion for martial arts. I believe that martial arts allow a person to become stronger. And that means our whole Russia becomes stronger,” said Yuri Trutnev.
The modular structure with an area of 527 sq. m is equipped with a gym, changing rooms, showers, and restrooms. Physical education lessons are held in the gym for more than 1,500 students of school No. 33, and sections for Kyokushin karate, mini-football, tag rugby, volleyball, and basketball also operate, attended by 365 school students. Since the gym’s opening, the Far Eastern project “Kyokushin in School” has been implemented here; the section is attended by 60 children, including 24 from other city schools.
“It has become very convenient to train, the level of training has become more advanced, there are already good results. The gym is equipped with necessary equipment. We organize master classes, including with the four-time world champion in Kyokushinkai Haidou Validovich Mantaev – he pays great attention to the development of our sport to interest more children and bring them to the gym. Besides training, we also hold competitions here, and organized the “Tiger Cup” championship,” said Kyokushinkai coach Tuyana Garmaeva.
Good training conditions and provision of coaching staff (three coaches conduct classes here) allow the pupils of the Kyokushinkai section to participate in competitions, with winners and prize-winners at interregional and all-Russian competitions.
“Zabaykalsky Krai is one of the leaders in the project for the construction of school gyms. Over two years, thanks to the support of Yuri Petrovich Trutnev, Alexey Olegovich Chekunkov, 11 gyms were introduced. In Chita – in schools No. 1, No. 32, No. 33, in the Chita, Priargunsk, Borzinsky, Krasnochikoysky districts, Balee and Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky. All of them are operational. Children and youth have the opportunity to fully engage in physical education in spacious, well-equipped halls and in clubs during free time from studies,” noted the governor of Zabaykalsky Krai Alexander Osipov.
Recall that the program for the construction of gymnasiums in educational institutions of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) and the project “Kyokushinkai to School” are implemented with the support of the Deputy Chairman of the Government – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the FEFD Yuri Trutnev and the head of the Ministry of East Development Alexey Chekunkov. The curator of the projects aimed at improving the conditions for children’s sports activities, increasing the level of physical activity of the population – according to the task set by President Vladimir Putin – is the four-time world champion in Kyokushinkai karate, Khaid Mantaev.
