Students of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering successfully participated in the International Olympiad “GZK-2026. Geo-Challenge.” The competitions were held from April 22 to 24 at the State University of Land Management in Moscow and gathered 25 teams from Russia and foreign countries.

The team included third-year students from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Urban Economy (FIEGU), specializing in “Land Management and Cadastre”.Elizaveta Kondratyeva(team captain),Maria Emelyanova, Veronika Obryazhayeva, Roman RashchupkinиAnatoly Loskutov.

The Olympiad program covered all key aspects of the modern industry: from classical land management and geodesy to real estate appraisal and legal support of cadastral activities. The competition unfolded in five most complex categories: “Land Management,” “Cadastre, Land and Environment Monitoring,” “Geodesy and Remote Earth Sensing,” “Management of Land Resources and Real Estate Objects,” and also “Appraisal of Land and Real Estate Objects.” The SPbGASU team brilliantly demonstrated themselves in one of the most competitive categories — “Management of Land Resources and Real Estate Objects.”FIÉGH students once again confirmed their high level by taking an honorary placethird place.

The team became the result of long preparation under the guidance of coach I. O., Head of the Department of Geodesy, Land Management and Cadastres, Candidate of Technical SciencesYana Volkova.

Dean of FEIH, Doctor of Technical SciencesDmitry Ulricommented on the students’ achievement, emphasizing the significance of such victories for professional development: “The result of our guys at an olympiad of this level is not just a prize-winning place, but an objective confirmation of the quality of education at the faculty. The direction of ‘Land Management and Cadastre’ today requires a synthesis of engineering knowledge, legal literacy, and mastery of digital technologies. The ability to effectively manage land assets and real estate objects in conditions of fierce competition is exactly what the real sector of the economy expects from graduates.”I congratulate the team and mentor Yan Volkov on this victory. You have proven that the SPbGASU school is capable of competing equally with the world’s leading specialized universities. I am confident that this experience will become a powerful driver for your further professional and scientific growth.
