Vladivostok, April 27 /Xinhua/ — A photo exhibition dedicated to achievements in modernization in the Chinese style was held on Monday in the Russian city of Vladivostok. The event was organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Vladivostok and the Asian-European Bureau of the Xinhua News Agency.
About 30 photographs were presented at the exhibition, demonstrating the impressive achievements of China in the economy, science and technology, military affairs and shipbuilding, social development, and the improvement of people’s welfare.
Darya Mishukova is a Vietnamese language specialist who writes books about Vietnam and has been in love with this country for many years. However, this time she came to the photo exhibition to reflect on the reasons for China’s brilliant successes through the prism of comparison with her beloved country.
“Behind any success, there is always the volume of work done… Daily efforts, even small ones, make a significant difference over time. It is the art of small steps, in which the Chinese are very strong, in my view, and this ensures this iconic result,” said Darya in response to a question about the reasons for the success of Chinese modernization.
She looks at the prospects of Chinese-Russian relations with great optimism, noting the importance of cross-border cooperation and the huge historical experience of interaction between the two countries.
“It is important to analyze this experience and draw the right conclusions. We can maximize the effectiveness of our cooperation in the future,” she is confident.
Galina Blinova works at the Vladivostok media company “Far Eastern Media Center.” She also looks to the future of Chinese-Russian relations with great hope and sincere optimism, hoping that in the future Russians and Chinese will continue, as they do today, to visit each other as guests, communicate amicably, and conduct joint business.
Vice Mayor of South Sakhalin Vyacheslav Kozhov noted that the photo exhibition clearly demonstrated the connection between the traditions and history of China and its modernity. Among his most impressive photos, he called the photograph in which children are playing with snow in Beijing’s Tiantan Park / Temple of Heaven /.
“This is a brilliantly prepared economic breakthrough. It was carried out clearly and according to plan. And indeed, they achieved a great result… There was a proper policy and they /the Chinese/ kept their discipline. They can do this. It is important that the Chinese have deep traditions, as well as diligence and a thirst for competition — all this gave the result,” emphasized V. Kozhuvov, answering a question about the factor of success and modernization in the Chinese style.
According to the vice-rector of the Far Eastern Federal University /FEFU/ for international relations, director of the Far Eastern Institute of FEFU Evgeny Vlasov, throughout the entire history of bilateral relations, Russia and China have learned from each other and help each other. He believes that an important contribution to China’s technological and industrial achievements was made by the Soviet Union.
“The current stage of Russian-Chinese relations is the highest level of relationship development. These are the warmest and most friendly relations. And it seems to me that here we can only envy the prospects that are opening up. Every year our relations become stronger,” he said in response to a question about the prospects for the development of Chinese-Russian relations.
Innokentiy Kychkin — a graduate student of DVFU. After viewing the photo exhibition and comparing photos from many years ago with recent ones, he expressed his admiration for the brilliant achievements and titanic efforts of the Chinese people.
Separately, Innocentiy noted a photo of Chinese astronauts on the Chinese space station, calling it a symbol of the inevitable triumph of many years of efforts, where technology and human will have merged into one.
In his opinion, it was precisely the competent policy of the Chinese leaders and the diligence of the Chinese people that helped achieve such an impressive leap in the modernization of the economy and society.
“I think the Chinese really had a common goal — to lift the country on its feet. And they did it,” said Innokentiy.
Speaking about Chinese-Russian relations, he noted that the current level of development and mutual trust can be envied. “When neighbors are so open to each other and at the same time respect national interests — this is an example of good neighborliness in the 21st century,” he emphasized.
