Beijing, April 28 /Xinhua/ — China’s Coast Guard (COG) on Tuesday took unprecedented measures to prevent and expel the Japanese fishing vessel “Tsurumaru,” which intruded into the territorial waters of China’s Diaoyu Islands archipelago, an official representative of the COG, Zhan Lue, reported.
Diaoyu and the islands adjacent to it are an inherent part of China’s territory, he noted, emphasizing that the measures taken by the BOC were implemented in accordance with the law.
“We strongly urge the Japanese side to immediately cease all violations and provocative actions in the corresponding waters,” stated Tszyan Lue.
The People’s Liberation Army Navy will continue to conduct operations to ensure law and order in the waters around Diaoyu Island, resolutely defending the country’s sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, he summarized. -0-
