Tehran, April 26 /Xin Hua/ — The handover of Iranian conditions for the ceasefire to Pakistan as a country acting as a mediator is one of the key goals of the repeated visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad. This was reported on Sunday by the Iranian semi-official news agency Tasnim.
According to the agency, A. Aragchi’s return to Pakistan is not related to negotiations on the nuclear issue with the United States. It is expected that the Iranian minister will discuss bilateral relations with Pakistan, as well as other issues such as Iran’s introduction of a new legal regime in the Strait of Hormuz, demands for reparations, guarantees against a repeated “aggression from the instigators of war,” and the lifting of the US naval blockade.
A. Aragchi arrived in Islamabad on Sunday afternoon for a second visit within 24 hours, having previously visited Oman. According to Tasnim, his brief visit to Pakistan is aimed at continuing consultations with Pakistani officials.
After Pakistan, the head of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence plans to visit Russia as part of the final stage of his regional tour. During his first visit to Islamabad, he met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Chief of Staff of the country’s armed forces, Asim Munir.
