At a working meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Government – Head of the Government Office of Russia Dmitry Grigorenko discussed with representatives of the IT business of the Krasnoyarsk Territory the implementation of artificial intelligence, its regulation, and the creation of infrastructure for the development of the IT industry in the region.
During the meeting, representatives of IT companies in the region shared their initiatives for the development of technology and artificial intelligence and support for the industry. Special attention was given to the issues of existing barriers to the implementation of AI solutions, the shortage of computing power, and legal regulation. The participants also discussed the mechanisms of access to government procurement, the possibilities of simplifying integration with government information systems.
Dmitry Grigorenko: The development of the IT sector is built on a constant dialogue with entrepreneurs.
Dmitry Grigorenko emphasized the importance of developing infrastructure for the II, which requires the creation of modern data processing centers. Over the past five years, the capacity of data processing centers in Russia has doubled, while the need for developing the data processing center industry remains. Currently, the concept of a data processing center is legislatively defined, mechanisms for simplifying the creation and connection to energy grids have been established.
It was also noted at the meeting that another important factor in the development of AI is access to quality data, of which the largest holder is the state. In this regard, mechanisms for the safe exchange of anonymized data with developers are being worked out. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that currently preparations are underway for a framework bill on the regulation of artificial intelligence, which will establish its legal status.
“Our priority in working on creating conditions for the development of IT business in Russia is a constructive dialogue with the entrepreneurial community. Feedback for us is not just a barometer of business sentiment, but often a setting of tasks. Coordination of the government’s and business’s hours on the IT agenda is regularly conducted both on the platform of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization ‘Digital Economy’ and in regular meetings with business during working visits,” noted Dmitry Grigorenko.
Within the meeting, special attention was given to the systematic collection of feedback from businesses through the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Digital Economy,” which allows for the formation of targeted support measures for the industry and the creation of conditions for the sustainable development of the domestic IT sector in the region.
“Among major federal players and regional IT companies, there is some kind of clearer vision regarding the regulation of artificial intelligence. On our platform, we resolve disagreements, form feedback – for example, we have managed to achieve clarification of requirements for sovereign and national models, which have become executable and balanced. At a regional meeting with the participation of Dmitry Yuryevich, we are often highlighting new questions for further development.”For example, proposals on support measures and replication of solutions, industry specifics and interdepartmental interaction, development of the Center for Open Data (COD) for AI in the region,” noted Chulpan Gossamova, General Director of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “Digital Economy”.
