Yunnan Province Promotes Its Products in the Russian Market

Moscow, April 23 /Xin Hua/ — The presentation “Promotion of unique products of Yunnan province on the Russian market”, organized by the Department of Commerce of Yunnan province, took place on Wednesday in the Russian capital.

The event was aimed at creating a platform for trade and economic exchanges, facilitating the entry of unique Yunnan products into the Russian market, and deepening practical cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.

Counselor of the Embassy of the PRC in the Russian Federation Zhou Hao stated that interregional economic cooperation between the two countries yields fruitful results. Brands such as “Yunnan Flowers,” “Yunnan Tea,” coffee, and fruits from this province are rapidly entering the Russian market and enjoying great popularity among consumers.

The Deputy Head of the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, Hao Ishan, in his speech noted that Russia is a key partner of the province in expanding its presence in the Eurasian market. According to him, the effectiveness of cooperation between Yunnan Province and the Russian Federation is steadily growing against the backdrop of complementary resources and market openness. He emphasized the province’s readiness to expand comprehensive interaction with Russian business circles to achieve mutual prosperity.

The first deputy chairman of the Russia-China Friendship Society /ORKD/ Galina Kulikova confirmed ORKD’s readiness to use its regional branches across Russia to facilitate resource exchange and mutually beneficial cooperation between the subjects of the Russian Federation and Yunnan Province.

As emphasized by Vitaly Mankevich, chairman of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs /RASPPI/, Yunnan, being the “southwestern gateway” of China, offers Russian companies competitive logistical solutions for access to the markets of Southeast Asia, which opens up huge potential for strengthening interregional ties.

A series of specialized presentations by leading enterprises of Yunnan Province was held as part of the event.
