Moscow, April 23 /Xinhua/ — The Moscow qualifying round of the 15th All-Russian Student Competition “Bridge of the Chinese Language” took place on Wednesday in the capital of Russia. More than 20 students from 13 Russian universities participated in it.
Greeting the participants of the event, the education counselor and envoy of the Chinese Embassy to the Russian Federation, Cao Shihai, noted that in Russia this competition enjoys great popularity among students of universities, Confucius Institutes, Chinese language centers, and all those studying Chinese. “With the deepening cooperation between China and Russia in various spheres, the demand for specialists with knowledge of Chinese and Russian languages is rapidly growing. In Russia, the number of Chinese language learners and organizations offering its teaching is steadily increasing,” the diplomat said.
As part of the competition, participants had to present a report in Chinese on the topic “The whole world is one family,” demonstrate their talents in the field of Chinese culture, and deliver an oral improvised speech.
