Tbilisi, April 23 /Sina/ — The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia on Thursday officially announced the launch of a state program to finance agriculture, based on an updated approach to supporting the agro-sector.
Speaking at the presentation of the state program, the head of the department David Songulashvili noted that the new program marks the beginning of a modernized stage in the development of the country’s agriculture.
According to him, the main focus is on increasing efficiency, implementing modern tools, and strengthening the positions of Georgian products in international markets.
A separate emphasis is placed on the development of the commercialization of agricultural activities, which is expected to ensure sustainable growth of the sector and strengthen the country’s food security. –0–
