Rim, April 23 /Sinchua/ — The Italian Navy announced its readiness to participate in a mine-clearing operation in the Hormuz Strait as soon as the current conflict subsides. This was reported on Wednesday by the news agency ANSA, citing sources in the country’s Navy.
Officials emphasized that any such actions will not be taken unilaterally, but will be carried out within the framework of coordinated multilateral cooperation, according to the ANSA report.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country also confirmed the country’s commitment to the cause of protecting judicial freedom in accordance with international law and supporting maritime security through collective multilateral cooperation.
