Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University signed a cooperation agreement with Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye.The working meeting was attended by the rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudskoy, the vice-rector for scientific work Yuri Fomin, the director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transport Anatoly Popovich, the director of the Institute of Biomedical Systems and Biotechnology Andrey Vasin, the director of the Research and Technology Complex “New Technologies and Materials” IMMiT Aleksey Alyimenko, the head of the “Field Development” department of the Research and Technology Complex “New Technologies and Materials” Vasily Tokarev, as well as a delegation from “Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye” led by General Director Vladimir Krupenikov.
“Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye” is a subsidiary of “Gazprom Neft”, implementing projects in the field of production. The enterprise applies modern technologies in drilling and construction, three-dimensional geological models, as well as block-modular approach to the creation of infrastructure, ensuring the environmental friendliness of projects by reducing the construction area and lowering metal consumption.
“Gazprom Neft” is working on the development of solutions for the infrastructure and monitoring of facilities in the permafrost zone. An important priority for the company is production and environmental safety, supporting traditional industries, lifestyle, and customs of the indigenous peoples of the North. The company makes a significant contribution to supporting the regions, implementing educational, cultural, sports, and environmental projects aimed at the socio-economic development of territories and improving people’s quality of life.
Cooperation between the Polytechnic University and “Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye” provides:
- training and retraining of personnel with higher and secondary professional education in accordance with modern requirements presented to specialists;
- Assistance in disseminating information on scientific research, new developments, publications, and other materials;
- organization and conduct of introductory, educational, industrial, and pre-graduation practices for students;
- joint participation in the organization of scientific and practical conferences, youth development competitions, and other events;
- Participation in the event on preliminary employment of SPbPU graduates in high-demand enterprises by fields of study and specialties;
- Internship conduction.
In the signed agreement, we see even greater potential for expanding our cooperation with Gazprom Neft, and it must be said that it is already considerable in scale — these are research projects and our joint country’s largest annual conference on field development in permafrost soil. I am confident that now we will launch new projects using the experience and expertise of the teams of Politekh and Gazprom Neft.

General Director of Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye Vladimir Krupenikov emphasized the importance of the signed agreement:We are engaged in the development of complex reserves in several regions of the country. Each project requires modern technologies, digital solutions, and highly qualified specialists. Cooperation with Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University will make it possible to improve the practical training of students. Company experts will participate in the development of training programs, and the students will be able to undergo internships at our facilities in order to study the technological process and real production tasks.I hope that thanks to the new partnership, we will strengthen scientific exchange, and in the future many graduates of the Polytechnic will become part of the “Gazprom Neft” team

After signing the agreement, the delegation of “Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye” met with Polytechnic students. General Director Vladimir Krupenikov spoke about the enterprise’s structure, main projects, and working conditions. Head of the Training and Personnel Development Department Elvira Bibaeva elaborated specifically on how the company organizes work with students, what employment opportunities exist, and possibilities for career growth.
Then senior students and graduate students chatted with the enterprise leaders-experts. In the format of a direct dialogue, they discussed key business directions, the scale and prospects of projects and operational activities, as well as career development opportunities for young specialists.
First- and second-year students took part in the IT-tech game “Getting Acquainted with the Company.” It was an interactive team multimedia game about the company and its activities.
In addition, a tour of the Main Building was conducted for the delegation of Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye, and a model of the campus at the NIK Technopolis Politech was shown. The guests visited the Gazpromneft-Polytech Scientific and Educational Center, the Scientific and Technological Educational Space TVEL – SPbPU, the Polytechnical Supercomputer Center, and the laboratories of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials, and Transport.
