Tehran/Washington, April 19 /Xinhua/ — Iran and the USA on Sunday accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

Official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmail Baghaei stated that the so-called “blockade” of Iranian ports and coastlines imposed by the United States violates the ceasefire regime, calling it “illegal and criminal.”

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump accused Iran of a “serious violation” of the ceasefire regime, which was reported by ABC News chief correspondent Jonathan Karl in Washington. On Sunday, he wrote on the social network X that the American leader himself told him about this.

According to the journalist, D. Trump said that the agreement will be reached “one way or another. Fairly or unfairly.”

On Sunday morning, the US president wrote on the social network Truth Social that American representatives will go to Islamabad on April 20 to participate in a new round of talks.

As he emphasized, Washington “proposes a very honest and reasonable deal, and I hope they will accept it, because if not, the US will dismantle every power plant and every bridge in Iran.”

Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday remained paralyzed after the United States imposed a naval blockade on Iran, to which Tehran responded by tightening control over this strategically important waterway. –0–
