Students of the State University of Management successfully participated in the 5th “Moscow Student Data Hackathon,” which took place on April 17-18, 2026, in an offline format.
19 teams from various cities of the Russian Federation and Belarus competed for the title of best fighter.
Our university was represented by students of the “Applied Mathematics and Informatics” program of the Institute of Information Systems of GUE: Darya Osadina, Grigory Lyazer, Egor Levald, Renata Gaifullina. The team was mentored by Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical Methods in Economics and Management Inna Kramarenko.
The guys worked on the case “Profiling Russian universities based on open data” and were able to competently apply all the knowledge and skills they acquired in specialized academic disciplines. Students of GUE demonstrated a deep understanding of the business context of the task and competently applied data processing methods, multivariate data analysis methods, econometric methods.
As a result, the trainees not only improved their skills in Big Data and AI, but also won the Second Degree Diploma and a separate prize from the partner company in the nomination “Use of the analytical platform Loginom.”
Participant of the GUU Renat Gaifullin’s team, who took part in a Data-Hackathon for the first time, shared his impressions: “It was an incredible experience: working in a team with more experienced guys from the third course, diving into a real task from Loginom, and seeing how our efforts lead to the result. Second place and victory in the nomination became for me a stimulus and motivation to move further in data analysis.”
Team mentor Inna Kramarenko noted the coordinated work of the guys: “For four years, I have been a team mentor at the Data-Hackathon. It’s very pleasant to see how the guys grow, how motivation increases when they see the work of other teams, communicate and share their experience. Our current result is the outcome of joint efforts of department teachers, mentors, mentors, partners.
Recall that in 2025 the GUU team also brought silver from the Data-Ñ hackathon, which indicates the stable and high-quality work of our students and confirms the high level of training of future business mathematicians and data analysts at GUU.
Congratulations to the students and the supervisor on the worthy results, and we wish further victories!
