Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University of Peter the Great won the competition selection of the All-Russian Youth Public Organization “Russian Student Teams.” The university was recognized as the winner in 11 lots for the professional training of members of student teams.

The participation of the university in the project, as well as the organizational support for the implementation of the programs, is carried out by the Directorate of Additional Education and Industry Partnership of SPbPU.

Within the framework of grants, training in the most in-demand working specialties will be undergone by more than 250 fighters from student squads of Saint Petersburg. Such training is aimed at solving current personnel tasks and forming practical competencies necessary to ensure technological leadership.

“Victory in the competition became an important step for the university in developing interaction with the student movement, employers, and the real sector of the economy. The implementation of this program allows not only expanding the opportunities for professional training of youth but also strengthening the human resource potential of the construction industry, energy sector, service sphere, and other high-tech areas.”— noted the Vice-Rector for Additional and Pre-University Education Dmitry Tionov.

Professional training programs allow students to master working professions for free, including locksmith-electrician, electrician, welder, fitter, photographer, and many others. In addition, trainees can acquire practical skills that are in demand by employers. The programs contribute to providing enterprises with qualified personnel, strengthening the connection between the education system and the real economic sector, as well as increasing the attractiveness of working professions among young people.

“Together with Russian student teams, we will create a unique opportunity for young people not only to acquire a profession, but also to take their first confident steps in a career, working in a team and solving real production tasks. We are proud that our university continues to be a forge of personnel, and we intend to develop cooperation with the Russian Student Teams (RSS), focusing on practice-oriented education that meets modern industry requirements.”— noted the head of the Directorate of Additional Education and Industry Partnership of SPbPU Ivan Kurta.

The program has a separate significance for the participants of student squads themselves, as it not only allows them to obtain a new qualification but also to gain practical experience, expand employment opportunities, and earn additional income during the summer season.

The training program includes theoretical and practical training. After successfully passing the qualification exam, participants receive certificates of the profession of a worker, official position of an employee of a established form, allowing them to officially work in the specialty.

“Politex once again confirmed the status of our leading partner in the preparation of student brigades. Winning 11 lotteries is a serious victory, thanks to which more than 250 fighters will be able to receive in-demand working professions for free. It is important for us that the guys not only study theory, but also can immediately apply the skills in practice during the work semester. Thanks to the university for the practice-oriented approach and systematic work — together we make working specialties prestigious, and personnel for the city and industry truly reliable.”— noted the chairman of the board of SPbRO MOOO “Russian Student Teams” Semyon Kiselev.
