Deputy Prime Ministers Tatyana Golikova and Dmitry Chernyshenko took part in the meeting of the collegium of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia. The participants discussed the results of FMBA’s work in 2025, as well as tasks for 2026.

Vice Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova noted the significant role of the agency in caring for the health of citizens, work associated with particularly hazardous working conditions, ensuring radiation, chemical, and biological safety, as well as the development of industrial medicine. According to her, by 2025, the number of comprehensive health centers in Russia increased by 25%, and by 2027 more than 60 centers and 400 health posts should be created. In workplaces in 35 regions of the country, service was additionally organized for 102 enterprises with a workforce of more than 168 thousand people.

Special attention is paid to improving the quality and accessibility of medical care for the serviced contingent and residents of settlements, especially those where FMBA medical organizations of Russia are the only ones in the territory.

“Today, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency takes care of the health of more than 3 million people living, among others, in closed administrative-territorial formations, satellite cities, and science cities. Over the past three years, the accessibility of medical care for patients with cardiovascular diseases has increased, which has allowed reducing the mortality of the serviced population compared to 2024: from circulatory system diseases by 3.4%, from myocardial infarction by 16.9%, and from acute cerebrovascular accidents by 6.1%.””These are tens of thousands of our citizens’ lives saved,” said Tatyana Golikova.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the blood service and the Federal Bone Marrow Donor Registry are actively developing. In 2025, the number of bone marrow donors exceeded 500 thousand people, and this number continues to grow. Compared to 2024, the registry appeal doubled, which allowed increasing the number of allogeneic bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cell transplants by 19%. At the same time, the number of transplants from Russian donors increased by 20%.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked the FMBA for its significant contribution to ensuring Russia’s technological leadership – a national goal set by President Vladimir Putin.

“Under the Government’s directive, the agency conducts scientific research in the field of sports medicine immediately across several directions. Among them are medical-biological and physiological support for athletes from the nearest reserve of national sports teams, work on the health rehabilitation of Paralympic athletes. On the initiative of the head of state, the National Center for Sports Medicine has been established. This is particularly important, as Russian athletes return to international arenas and perform triumphantly in competitions.”Also, the priority is rehabilitation and involvement in adaptive sports for our heroes – the veterans of the special military operation,” the deputy prime minister said.

In addition, Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the work of FMBA on studying the condition of athletes in innovative sports such as fidgeting, computer sports, and drone racing.
