Beijing, April 16 /Xinhua/ — As of April 12, the volume of sales under the government-supported consumer goods exchange program with trade-in in China will reach 502.94 billion yuan /about 73.33 billion USD/ in 2026, covering almost 69.78 million purchases, according to data published on Wednesday by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC.
According to data, since the beginning of this year, the number of vehicles sold under this program exceeded 1.67 million units, which contributed to new car sales amounting to more than 269.44 billion yuan.
In addition, as part of the program, more than 27 million units of household appliances were sold, with a total value of 111.09 billion yuan.
Within the framework of this program, a total of 41.08 million units of digital and smart products were also sold, generating revenue of 122.41 billion yuan.
Let us remind you that in 2025 the consumer goods exchange program for new goods under the trade-in scheme will have amounted to 366 million purchases, which led to sales of products totaling 2.61 trillion yuan. -0-
