PJSC “KAMAZ” and LLC “Scantronic Systems” have introduced a new mobile inspection and examination complex (MIDK) ST-2630M based on the chassis of the latest generation K5 KAMAZ-65658 to the market.
The main task of such a technology is the remote detection of undeclared goods and illegal consignments in vehicles, freight containers. The advantage of the mobile complex is its mobility, the possibility to promptly deploy work in any location. The use of the MIDK allows a significant increase in the efficiency and speed of customs and transport control procedures. The MIDK ST-2630M, produced by “Scantronic Systems” on the KAMAZ-65658 chassis, is created based on a linear electron accelerator. It is intended for rapid deployment to conduct quick and effective control of cargo transported on vehicles and in containers.
The new model is based on the modern three-axle KAMAZ-65658 chassis, which belongs to the K5 generation transport family. The vehicle is equipped with a comfortable cabin with a sleeping place and good visibility, an economical KAMAZ engine with a power of 390 hp, as well as a robotic twelve-speed gearbox. Among the features of the KAMAZ-65658 chassis are a 6×2 wheel configuration, a liftable rear axle, which significantly improves load capacity, fuel efficiency, and vehicle maneuverability. To ensure smooth ride, the rear axles of the chassis are equipped with pneumatic suspension.
The MIDK ST-2630M complex of technical and technological solutions has been implemented, ensuring radiation safety for operators and the population, as well as allowing the complex to be operated in various climatic conditions and without obtaining permits for movement on public roads. The use of the MIDK ST-2630M makes it possible to build a distributed control system managed from a single center, regardless of the distance between inspection points from each other.
The weight parameters and dimensions of MIDK do not exceed the limits established by Annex No. 5 to the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union “On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles” TR CU 018/2011. The weight parameters of MIDK (including normative and actual) ensure its ability to move on roads designed for a load of 10 tons or more, without the need for a special permit for movement on roads by heavy and/or oversized vehicles.
In transport position, the dimensions of MIDK are 11396 mm in length, 2550 mm in width, and 4000 mm in height. When brought into working condition, the dimensions of the complex change: length is 11291 mm, width increases up to 8861 mm, and height reaches 5387 mm. The mass of the vehicle in equipped condition is no more than 23000 kg.
Technical characteristics of the system ensure high inspection accuracy. The energy of the electron beam is 6 or 3.5 MeV, which allows achieving a maximum penetration ability through steel of up to 320 mm. The system can detect wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm (without obstacles) and has a contrast sensitivity of 1.5%. In addition, the unique software implemented in the system enables material recognition, dividing it into four main groups and allowing weight assessment — both of the entire cargo as a whole and of its individual parts.
The installed microrotation system ensures the movement of the assembly in the scanning direction at a nominal speed of 12 or 24 meters per minute, which provides a maximum throughput capacity of up to 25 vehicles per hour.
MIDC receives power from a built-in diesel generator, with sufficient capacity to ensure the maximum productivity of the complex. A power supply system from external 380 V power networks is also provided for the MIDC. In this case, the system’s power consumption does not exceed 40 kVA.
