Tashkent, April 15 /Xin Hua/ — As of April 1, 2026, the number of operating enterprises with foreign investments in Uzbekistan reached 19,072, according to data published by the national statistics committee of the republic on Tuesday.

Over the past year, the number of companies with foreign participation increased by 3,333 units, or by 21.2%. In the structure of these enterprises, 14,680 are fully foreign, and 4,392 are joint ventures.

China ranks among the leading countries-investors, with 5,398 companies involving Chinese capital operating in the country. Russia and Turkey also have a significant presence.

A large part of foreign business is concentrated in Tashkent, as well as in the Tashkent, Samarkand, and Fergana regions. The main investments are directed towards industry, trade, construction, transport, and the IT sector.

Over the past five years, the total number of foreign enterprises in Uzbekistan has increased by 1.4 times. As of April 1, 2026, there are 577.2 thousand registered active enterprises and organizations in the country.
