Abu Dhabi, April 15 /Xin Hua/ — The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met on Tuesday with the visiting Chairman of the European Council, Antonio Costa, to discuss regional events and their broader implications. This was reported by the Emirati news agency WAM.
The parties exchanged views on the changing situation in the region and its international consequences in such areas as maritime security, energy supply, and the global economy.
They also condemned recent attacks on civilian targets in the OAE and other countries of the region, noting that such actions violate international law and undermine regional stability.
A. Koshta expressed support from the European Council of the OAEC and the countries of the region in efforts to ensure security and stability.
The President of the OSCE and the President of the European Council also discussed relations between the OSCE and the EU, agreed to promote negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement and a strategic partnership agreement, and to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. –0–
