“Orenburgneft,” the Company’s key producing asset in the Volga region, exceeded the planned oil production from hydraulic fracturing operations by 18%, aided by high-precision engineering and competent selection of candidate wells.
One of the largest events in 2025 was the pilot project of a large-scale fracturing hydraulic fracturing (GHP) at the Tarashchanskoye field with a record volume for the region – 100 tons of proppant in a single operation at the Kolgansk formation. The large-scale project required the highest calculation accuracy. The hydraulic fracture design was performed in the corporate GHP simulator “RN-GRID.” Digital modeling made it possible to predict fracture development, optimize injection parameters, and guarantee process safety when using a record volume of fracturing agent.
The use of high-volume hydraulic fracturing allows the formation of an extensive highly conductive fracture in the reservoir, which gives a second life to wells at the late development stage and ensures the economic efficiency of large-scale hydraulic fracturing on a mature asset of the enterprise.
In the future, the company’s specialists plan to scale up the practice of injecting larger volumes of proppant into the Kolgansk formation wells. Additionally, geologists will improve the methodologies for selecting candidate wells for hydraulic fracturing using hydrodynamic models of deposits and formations, optimize the composition of fracturing fluids and injection regimes to increase the oil recovery factor, enhance the efficiency of field development, and use the subsurface resources rationally.
The development of technological potential and the digitalization of business processes are among the key priorities of Rosneft’s activities. The use of digital simulators developed by the Company’s scientific institute allows specialist geologists to increase the efficiency of processes and ensure an increase in oil production in the region.
