Tbilisi, April 10 /Xinhua/ — Georgia’s economic growth in 2026 will slow down against the backdrop of a decline in the services sector and weakening external demand, amounting to 5.5% compared to 7.5% in 2025. This is stated in the report “Asia Development Forecasts,” published by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in April 2026.

The report notes that increased geopolitical risks, including the conflict in the Middle East, may further restrain economic activity. According to the forecast, growth will slow to 5.2 percent in 2027.

The director of the ABL representation in Georgia, Leslie Birman, stated that in order to maintain Georgia’s economic growth, it is necessary to deepen regional and global integration, as well as strengthen the country’s role as a transport and logistics hub through investments in infrastructure, expansion of trade, and support of the private sector. –0–
