Beijing, April 9 /Xinhua/ — At the invitation of the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPV CC), President of this country, To Lam, will visit China on a state visit from April 14 to 17.
The corresponding announcement was made on Thursday by the official representative of the International Liaison Department of the CC CPC Hu Zhaoming.
The official representative of the MFA of the PRC, Mao Ning, at a regular briefing for journalists spoke about the program of the visit of To Lama.
According to her, during the visit, negotiations will take place between Xi Jinping and To Lam. Separate meetings will also be held with the Vietnamese leader by Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference China Wang Huning.
As Mao Nin reminded, in April 2025 Xi Jinping made a successful state visit to Vietnam, facilitating the commencement of the construction of the China-Vietnam community of shared destiny, which holds strategic significance, marking a new stage of development.
According to an official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, the fact that Ton Lam immediately chose China as the first country to visit after being elected president of Vietnam fully demonstrates the increased attention he pays to the development of relations between the two parties and the two states.
“The Chinese side expects that the upcoming visit will allow continuing the tradition of interstate friendship, deepening China-Vietnam relations of comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership, and assisting in building a China-Vietnam community of shared destiny with strategic significance, at a higher level, to jointly promote the development of the global socialist cause, safeguarding peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and worldwide,” Mao Ning concluded. –0–
