Khartoum, April 9 /Sin Hua/ — At least 56 people were killed, and another 107 wounded as a result of a drone strike /UAV/ targeted at the city of Kutum in North Darfur state in western Sudan. This was reported on Thursday by the Rapid Response Forces /RRF/ and a source at one of the local hospitals.

According to the Sudanese Armed Forces, a strike was carried out on Wednesday evening, targeting a mass gathering of people. It is noted that as a result of the shelling, 56 civilians died, including 17 children, and another 107 people were injured.

As reported by correspondent Sin Hua and a source in the Kutum hospital, it is currently officially known that more than 40 people have died and dozens are injured, while new victims continue to be admitted to the medical facility.

According to eyewitnesses, the strike hit the location of a wedding ceremony in the As-Salam area, where a large crowd of people had gathered in one of the houses, which led to a large number of deaths and injuries. Another resident said that a drone destroyed the house where the celebration was held, damaging about four neighboring residential buildings.

Sudanese armed forces have not yet commented on the incident.
